If my flight and next reservation use separate tickets, what should I do?

If the next reservation is an onward flight on a separate ticket, the passenger should first check whether an onward boarding pass has been issued. The airport distinguishes transfer procedures by that status: passengers without an onward boarding pass are directed to their airline's transfer desk.

Check the onward boarding pass status

  • With an onward boarding pass: Follow the transfer procedure for passengers in that category.
  • Without an onward boarding pass: Check the location of the airline's transfer desk and go there.

Separate ticketing alone does not establish which procedure applies. The stated dividing point is whether the passenger has an onward boarding pass.

Check whether onward check-in is available

The airport says some connections can complete onward flight and baggage check-in procedures without leaving the restricted area. This does not mean every separate-ticket connection can use the same process. The passenger should confirm that the specific connection is covered before relying on it.

What still needs confirmation

Before relying on the itinerary, the passenger should confirm:

  1. whether an onward boarding pass has been issued;
  2. the location of the airline's transfer desk;
  3. whether the connection is among those that can use the airport's onward check-in and baggage procedures; and
  4. how the onward flight and baggage will be handled.

The transfer guidance above concerns onward flights; it does not provide a procedure for a non-flight reservation. Neither separate ticketing nor the boarding-pass distinction itself establishes a universal fee, deadline, eligibility rule, or guaranteed onward check-in arrangement. Those points require separate confirmation rather than assumption.
